About Doug

Doug Randall is a certified yoga teacher based in San Francisco, California, with over twenty-
five years of experience practicing and teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa Flow Yoga.

Known for his disciplined yet light-hearted approach, Doug creates an environment where students
challenge their limits while maintaining joy and presence on the mat. Doug began his teaching journey at *It’s Yoga* on Folsom Street in San Francisco in 2000, where he taught modified Ashtanga series and Rocket Flow, and later at the Bay Club, where he taught the popular Saturday morning flow class for over 20 years.

At *It’s Yoga,* Doug not only led beginner and mixed-level classes but also brought his unique expertise as an
actor to the *Teacher Training Program.* His workshop, *“Finding Your Voice,”* helped aspiring yoga instructors cultivate confidence, authenticity, and dynamism in their teaching, blending acting techniques with yogic principles. In addition to his studio work, Doug has taught yoga at the **University of California, San Francisco**, as part of a body and movement class, and at **Bay Area Theater Sports (BATS)**, where he integrated yoga as a warm-up practice for actors to enhance focus and
fluidity.

Doug is a certified instructor through *It’s Yoga* and has deepened his knowledge under the guidance of renowned teachers, including **Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, Larry Schultz, Ed Clark, Clayton Horton, Doug Swenson, Devora Saks**, and **Shiva Rea**. His teachings reflect the wisdom of this lineage while embracing creativity and accessibility.

Beyond the studio, Doug continues to inspire students through private sessions, weekly virtual classes, and guided meditations. He also coaches CEO’s of technology companies. He brings his vibrant energy to every setting, whether leading mindful movement, performing improv, or fostering community through shared practice.

Doug exemplifies the balance of strength, flexibility, and lightness that yoga brings to life. “What I love most about teaching yoga,” Doug says, “is helping people get to places— physically, mentally, and emotionally—that they never thought they’d reach, all while keeping a smile on their face.”
